We heard that there would be a bus strike in La Paz so the day after Death Road we got a bus to Copacabana which took 3 hours the journey was really nice with amazing views over Lake Titicaca, it reminded me a bit of Scotland but on a much bigger scale, Just as I was thinking how much my mam would have loved these views, the bus stopped right at the lake edge and we were all told to get off the bus and catch a boat across, we got our ticket to cross and as we turned around the coach was driving onto a really old board for the boat to take it across the lake, the driver used 2 planks of wood to drive on to it, but it worked, like everything else in this country you donīt quite know why they do things they way they do but it works.
When we arrived in Copacabana there had just been a festival so the streets were littered with rubbish and there was people everywhere .  It is a very small town and anyone can pretty much get around it in a day, so we checked into our Butlins style room and had a look about. We booked t ogo to Isla Del Sol the following morning where there is ancient Inca ruins, the boat took 3 hours on Lake Titicaca and we arrived at the North side of the island where we trekked for 3 hours  to see the ruins then trekked back to catch the boat to take us to the south side of the island where we saw more ruins and trekked up and old Inca trail, the views were spectacular from the top.
We got the boat back where the festival was still going on, the locals were all smashing glass botles off rocks for god luck and firecrackers were going off all the time, great fun to see.
