Hola Rio! Arrived late Saturday night after our long flight and the place was busy busy busy, checked in and the room was a shared dorm and I was the only girl, but a good night sleep had,  as I didn't sleep on the plane.
we got up early Sunday to explore Ipanema and itīs beautiful coastline, on Sunday they close the road off so all the locals can use it to walk, ride, run along what a buzz all the beautiful people working out on the beach, men posing whilst playing volley ball and old dears walking their dogs. I think we covered 4 miles and hence today my feet are sore.  Oh we completely lost our hostel too which probably added on another mile.  All the crazy guys checked out so again last night i went to bed with one man (Justin) and awoke with 3...you never really know what you will wake up to in Hostels - maybe an animal!!
Sunday we went to visit Christ on thee most scariest bus journey to the top, it didnīt help that I looked at the tires on the bus and they were all completely bald, so as the driver is speeding round all the really tight bends we are left clinging of to our lives, needless to say my eyes were closed most up the way up and down.  When we got to the top all is forgotten as we took in the breathtaking views over Brazil and queued for that all important photo. On the way back down we decided to make our own picnic as we are living off $8 per day and two cheeky monkeys came to see what was going on.
Tuesday we got on the bus to see Sugar Loaf and when we got there they close it due to the Brazil game, apparently EVERYTHING closes when the football is on,  so we went to the beach to watch it on a massive screen, what a great day and thank god they won as the atmosphere was electrifying, a sea of yellow and green tops everywhere, fireworks and horns blowing they defiantly know how to party here. pic
We found a shop that sells Skol beer for 1R$ = 40p so we decided to factor that into our 10R$ per day budget.
Wednesday today we went to Sugar Loaf and this time..yehhaaa we got up! the cable car was not too bad and the views from the top are awesome, and again saw a couple of monkeys although we did get accosted on our way out taxi drivers wanting to take us up to see christ, give them a quick get lost face and all ok!
I still havnīt had my time on the beach yet so we made time today just in time for a perfect sunset.  Thursday today and we head off on a 22hour overnight bus ride to Iguassu Falls, cant wait.....falls not the bus journey!
