These next several days were filled with a lot of eat, beachside, read, nap, jump in the pool, repeat. And given my fragile condition, I wasn't in a mood to go out hiking, biking or any of the other activities listed. I did however manage to get over to the spa :D.
We rented some snorkel gear and headed out into the calm waters to check out the Biorock project here in Pemuteran.
Electrical cables are strung out 30/40 meters to steel rebar to stimulate coral growth. Due to global warming and local fishing practices, including cyanide/dynamite, the coral had been severely damaged or destroyed.
The Biorock Project is an attempt to restore this. Over the years it's had a remarkable effect, and the coral is stunning, and the return of fish magnificent. We're sorry we didn't have an underwater camera to document some of the amazing things we saw under the water!
By Tuesday, the antibiotics finally did the trick and I was feeling much better, so we headed of to the Brahma Vihara Buddhist Monastery just southwest of Lovina and east of where were staying. On the way back we also visited another Hindu Temple, which also had the requiste troop of monkeys lazing about.
