We easily made our way through the 3 ½ hour trek today and reached Pothana by lunch time where we enjoyed some delicious Dal Bhat yet again. The teahouse was nice and inviting and had a large grassy garden in the back with panoramic views of Lake Phewa and the Annapurna range. Since our treks had become somewhat easy over the last couple of days we all felt a little bloated as we were continuing to eat like mountain men so we played around on the grass by doing some kickboxing routines and exercises. There was also a man-made wooden ferris wheel that we toyed around with, which was both fun and a little dangerous as it started falling apart while we rode it! All in all, everyone was in a cheerful mood from almost accomplishing our trekking however we were all sad that it was ending as well. After 8 days of trekking and going through altitude sickness one would naturally think that I would be excited that it was our last full day of trekking. In reality, it felt premature. My body had finally become adjusted to the climate and my muscles were no longer sore, but strong. I was actually in my best physical condition so far and prime for trekking and yet this is when my journey stopped. It's kind of ironic how it works out that way.
