A 4 hour bus and a 22 hour train ride brought me to my last destination in India, Mumbai. I met a very nice Canadian couple in the train and eventually ended up in the same guesthouse which is the Salvation Army (Red Shield). A perfect place to meet other travelers and a dorm and free breakfast for 250 Rs is the best you can get in Mumbai. When checking in the reception guy asked us if we wanted to be in a Bollywood movie and ofcourse that sounds like a plan. So the next day we were expected to be ready at 4.30 pm and would go for the whole night until 7 am in the morning. We would get free food and drinks and a 500 Rs payment. With about 30 (white) people we were on the bus to our unknown adventure. After 2 hours of driving and stopping twice for no reason I asked our guide what was happening and if we were already there? Then he came with a story about that somebody in the actors family got a heart attack and that the police was tipped about our coming and wanted to have bribed. Reason enough to cancel the whole thing and 1,5 hour later we were at our guesthouse again, damn!

So no movie career for us and for the rest shopping was my main activity in Mumbai. Since I could take 40 kg back to Zambia and India is a cheap country to buy stuff I bought a full new suitcase full of predominantly baby clothes. It was a fulltime 2 day shopping for it but it filled me with a lot of adrenalin and joy. I was lucky because an Indian friend Ajay and Wendy which I met before in India assisted me and gave me advice along the way. Thanks guys!

Then it was time to leave the country and my travels and go to the airport. Hasta la vista……

Practical stuff

-          As backpacker you HAVE to go to the Salvation Army (Red Shield).
