By a cold public bus me and Aron arrived in Manali after 10 hours touring through amazing landscapes. Manali is known as the adventure place where you can do rafting, skiing, trekking, paragliding etc. But we are not in the main season so most things are not possible. Still this place is beautiful and after buying some warm clothing you can enjoy yourself fully for a few days. A chilled out atmosphere, food everywhere and fresh mountain air.

After a good night of sleep we went for a walk through town and especially the mountain villages. We saw a YAK which is a sort of mixture between a big cow and a sheep. An amazing animal but paying 50 rupees to sit on its back and make a picture was not our cup of tea.

We both bought some warm clothes, Aron a jacket and shoes and I bought a thermo shirt, gloves and a winter hat which are really necessary here in this cold weather. It's about 15 degrees during the day and around 0 during the night. Rooms don’t have any heating so you have to cover yourself in good blankets to stay warm. The Mount Kenya trick of filling a warm bottle and putting it at your feet turned out to be a valuable tip!

Apart from Aron’s paraglide adventure and our Zorbing ball crazy idea at the Solang Valley we were exceptionally busy with arranging an Indian SIM card. What a shitty administrative process, unbelievable. However eventually it worked and I am reachable again.

Practical stuff

-          The best (cheapest) guesthouses are in Old Manali they say but we found one for half the price only 50 meters away from the bus stand. The Blue Heaven Hotel is recommend for 250 or 300 Rupees.
