We met with Patience in Joburg and took the bus to Pretoria Backpackers. We were dropped somewhere in the city and taken to our backpackers place in a police car. That was a welcome but extraordinary new experience! In the afternoon did some serious sightseeing as you can see in the pictures. Pretoria is a very nice city and you could easily spend some time here. We went to the Lofthus Versfeld stadium where Ghana, USA and Germany played their group matches during the 2010 WorldCup. Erik and me went on the field to try to play some rugby and kick the ball through the poles haha.. Saw the Pretoria University, Union Buildings, a park and had a Big Mac menu as lunch, hmmmm. Said goodbye to Patience and we went back to the hostel for a good night of sleep before heading to Gaborone, Botswana the next day.

Practical stuff

-        To take the bus to Gaborone you have to go to the Bosman Bus Station. From there take a minibus (160 rand) to Gab City. Ask for the right time because we were waiting from 8 to 12 in the morning before the bus started the engines.

Evaluation of South-Africa

I didn't see much of the country but the general idea is that you can see that it is a wealthy African and touristic country with a lot of European influences and luxuries. For a lot of people very attractive but for me the genuine African feeling is more present in countries as Zambia, Malawi and Tanzania and that's the reason I don't want to spend too much time here.
