The airplane ride back home had a few interesting experiences.  At the London airport, Heathrow, our handmade English jam we purchased at Stonehenge was confiscated because it was considered a liquid over 3 ounces.  So we found some more at the airport shops and went on our merry way.  Then, somewhere near the coast of Newfoundland, we hit the edge of what was left of Hurricane Igor and held on tight while the plane lurched violently up and down and sideways for several minutes.  Whew!  But we made it and had a nice smooth flight the rest of the way into Atlanta.

But wait, at the Atlanta airport, they confiscated our jam again because the way the airport is designed, international passengers have to re-check their luggage even if they are ending the trip in Atlanta.  We had to take our shoes off and pull out our baggie of toiletries and go through the x-rays again, etc...  But at least this time they let us re-check our jams in a separate piece of luggage we had but that meant going through the system again.  And it got lost.  And that bag had our car key in it!  So after an hour of searching, we gave up and sat down at an airport bar and had a beer.  After about 30 minutes, Mike decided to check the baggage area one more time, and there it was...yeehaw!

But we vowed to never go overseas through Atlanta again.  Delta told us that only Atlanta and Memphis are designed like that.

Overall, Ireland was a wonderful place that we would highly recommend to anyone...the tiny, narrow roads, the fish and chips, the Guinness, the sheep, the cliffs, the ruins, the people, the history, the views, even the driving on the left side of the road, we wouldn't trade for anything!  And I don't think we mentioned this, but Ireland makes the best soups and chowders in the world!  Yummee...
