It was nice to sleep in today till 8am.  After breakfast at the hostel, we trekked out into the city.  First stop was Trinity College, Dublin's largest and most famous university.  A witty young student took us on a delightful tour.  Then we saw the Book of Kells, an incredibly illustrated medieval book of the four gospels. After that we toured the long room of the old library where all the other old books are kept.  Very cool.

Next stop was St. Patrick's Cathedral, a large medieval church built near the site of where St. Patrick was said to baptize his converts.

A several minute walk then took us to the Guinness Storehouse where we not only learned how the tasty stout is made but drank some as well.  Shelby also took a quick course in the art of pouring a Guinness.

Next was Dublinia, a really cool multifloor exhibit on the Viking and medieval years of Dublin.  It also included a floor dedicated to the archeology involved which was very educational.  At the end, we exited through the Christ Church cathedral which was also pretty neat.

When we got back to our hostel, the street was lit up by a film crew making a movie involving a scene in the building next to ours.  It said "Reindeer Films" but we couldn't find out anything else...

New post tomorrow from a new city...stay tuned.
