Morning in Amarillo was worse than yesterday. Although no snow fell, it sleeted for a while and the gale force arctic winds ripped right through us when we took Braddock out for a walk. It only made the boy extra frisky, so we threw the ball for him a long as we could and then made a beeline for the RV when we couldn't stand the stinging wind any longer. With the weather still rough, we decided to stay in the Texas panhandle for one more day.

So the day was spent making business calls and working on emails and as you can see by one picture, taking naps.

The weather finally broke, the skies cleared and the wind stopped near dusk, so the cowboy and his wife, weary with cabin fever, called the free longhorn limo to the Big Texan steakhouse and brewery and did some good, old-fashioned tourist stuff.

The Big Texan (http://www.bigtexan.com) is a very popular tourist attraction dating back to the heydays of Route 66 during the 60's. If you can eat their 72 oz. steak in less than an hour, you get it for free. If not, it costs $72. Needless to say, we didn't try it, instead opting for the prime rib-stuffed potato skins and their own brewed beer: Jackrabbit Red, Whiskey Barrel Stout, and Whoop Your Donkey IPA.

As you can see, we had a grand time. We also happened to be there on the same night the Dallas Cowboy cheerleaders were there for a private party. Yeehaw!

So, with the turn in the weather, we are going to try for Memphis tomorrow...hasta luego Amarillo!l

Maggie is the best looking cheer leader there. You always amaze me-no stopping you two -you have a good time regardless.
