We set up camp and then hopped on our bikes to catch the ferry over to Mackinac Island.
We really enjoyed the short ferry ride over and the noticeably cooler temperature.
There are no vehicles on the island and the only ways to get around are by walking, bicycle, or horse(s). And of course, as we approached the Grand Hotel, Maggie had to stop for a picture in front of a shop called Margaret's Garden.
Then we toured the Grand Hotel, the largest summer hotel in the world and listed in the book: 1000 Places to See Before You Die.
We finally got some real exercise on our journey so far when we rode our bikes around the island on the 8-mile perimeter road.
Another ferry ride and then back to the mainland at Mackinaw City, where we did a litle shopping and ate some delicious fish and chips, then biked back to the campground and called it a day!
