June 2 - Detroit Airport

Just got into the wonderful city of Detroit.

After arriving, we were thrust into a long tunnel that resembled a techno rave.  Literally.  Complete with neon flashing lights and techno music.  I don't think I've ever seen a stranger thing.  Then, after eating a Cobb Salad the size of Liechtenstein, we started hearing chirps of tropical birds.  Apparently, the Detroit airport has recordings of jungle sounds that they like to play at high volumes throughout the terminals.  Not really sure why.  The bird chirps actually resemble the "most annoying sound in the world" from Dumb and Dumber.  So within thirty minutes, I've been to Sensation White in Amsterdam and to the lush tropical rainforest in the Amazon.  But I'm still in Detroit.  Riiiiiight.

And also, how bad would it suck to live in a city that roots for the Lions, Tigers, and Pistons?  Ouch.
