Usually when I go out and about I take my notebook with me and a pen - as you can probably tell from the last few entries, I haven't got round to doing that this summer; which means the ole gray matter gets a test ...... and I fail miserably as I can't remember exactly what I've been upto LOL!!!
My attention has been more focused on other happenings this year - more of which I will detail in the next entry.
So, briefly as I failed the gray matter test - we went and spent a weekend down in Kent with my sister in law and brother in law. A fantastic day was had by all on the Saturday at Leeds castle. It's fairly expensive to get in at £17.50 per person, however there is enough there to occupy you for a whole day.
We started off the day with a wander through the grounds - which are fairly extensive, followed by lunch, then a bird flying display, after which we got lost in the maze - until Martyn took over navigation, at which point we seemed to find the middle within a matter of minutes! Finally, there was the castle itself to look round.
We went back to Sharon and Martyns in the evening, where Sharon cooked us a delicious meal before settling down to watch a film and then crashing in their wonderfully huge, comfortable guest bed.
The next day one of Johns other sisters Bernadette came over with her daughter Ellie and Ellie's boyfriend Tom. We were treated to a flow of BBQ and cake as we sat chatting and catching up.
