We get up, have another delicious brekkie at the b&b and then head out through the country lanes. We see a sign from the road to a saxon cathedral and earthworks – so we go and take a look – it turns out to be ruins of North Elmham Chapel and there are a few picture boards dotted around describing the history of it.

After this we end up in Holt where we stop for tea and cake (this is becoming a bit of a theme with trips with mum and dad!!!) And eventually we make our way to Sherringham as mum and dad haven't been there before. We wander through the town and out onto the seafront – walk along and then sit on the stones watching the sea for a while before taking a look round the life boat station. Such extraordinary, selfless people – with each buzz of their pager, they willingly drop everything and completely risk their own life to save those of other people who have got themselves into trouble at sea.  They don’t get paid for this, they just do it and I didn’t realise until this visit that they do not get one single penny as an organisation from the government, they are completely charity funded – i.e. donations from people.

We find a tearoom overlooking the beach to have some lunch in and then move on up the coast to Blakeney – again me and John have been there before, but mum and dad haven’t, we look round the book sale and then a small craft fair before taking a stroll along the harbour.

Last stop for dinner before going back was in Wells-next-the-sea where we go into Whin Hill Cider shop. Mum, dad and John taste some ciders and ma and pa purchase a couple of bottles.  Fish and chips for dinner tonight – yum!
