After a busy Friday afternoon I get home and wait for John to arrive. He's not far behind me, we get our bag and go.

Norfolk is the nearest coast to us - it takes under an hour and a half to get there and the accommodation is extremely good value. Travel Lodge have sales every now and then and if you get in quick enough, you can get rooms for 9 per night, so for a two night break it totals 18. Travel Lodge is a bit impersonal I guess, but for 4.50 per person per night it's a cheap couple of night getaway.

The journey up was pretty uneventful - except one part when I was looking out across the fields, thinking about how the nights are starting to draw in, the air feels damper (when it's not raining!!) and this morning it felt positively autumnish - which is okay cause I like autumn. All of a sudden the car starts veering off across to the other side of the road "what the" I say as I'm brought straight back to the present second, "sorry" John says, "there was a frog in the road". I wouldn't have wanted him to squash it, but it gave me quite a fright for a second.

It's pouring with rain and the weather forecast says it's likely to be in for the weekend - but do you know what - I just don't care,  I know we'll make the most of it whatever the weather.
