Tired of travelling all day we decided to stop in a small Swiss town thinking the costs would be lower than in a high tourist centre. NOT!! The cheapest room we could find was 110.00 swiss francs. It had two single BUMPY beds, a TV that Henry had to keep hammering to stop it from scrolling, and a washroom down the hall. A salad was 22.00 swiss francs and a glass of red wine 7.00 - that drew the line for me and I refused to eat. Actually, I thought I would pick up something later at a fastfood place but the lineups were incredible - so I just went to our room and had cheese and crackers. Henry didn't care and ordered the salad and 2 wine which I shared as I was thirsty :)
The town centre was lined with restaurants & pubs. There were tables flowing onto the street and a huge big screen TV in the centre of the square along with activities for the kids. The EuroCup was on and it seemed like most of the community was out watching the game. Sometime during the evening after the game was over we were awakened by gunfire. People were driving up and down the streets honking their horns and firing guns into the air - I guess they were happy with the outcome of the futbol game.
