There have been noticeable differences changing countries. Which of course is nice because that's why you travel.
First, I have to remember to say 'bonjour' not 'hola' and 'merci' not 'gracias' etc.
Secondly, the French are more refined in their building architecture, their language, food, clothing etc.
Thirdly, no more COBBLESTONES!! Occassionally in the old city centres walking throughout the maze of streets we find cobblestones otherwise everything is pavement or concrete.
Last but not least for now in our observations, the Spanish and Portuguese love their night life! Henry in particular enjoyed the evening strolls at 9:00 p.m., stopping for an espresso and dessert to people watch and then head home. France closes shop at about 8:00 p.m. and you're hard pressed to find a cafe or anyone strolling. Maybe we'll lose weight in this country san dessert:)
