So, I had some photos of site and town that I somehow uncontrollably deleted on Saturday at work when I was trying to name and file them. I am still confused at where they went. So, most of the photos are from today when a group of us went out to GOPDC – a Belgian owned palm oil plantation and factory about 40 minute drive away. A small group rode their bikes, and I went ahead in the carload that was not so silly. We did get a bit lost on the way there, but not to worry. The plantation is 8000 hectares and quite impressive. We did a 1 hr walk around and explored the site a bit. Pretty much everyone has been out there at least once, but I have yet to make it because I have always been on break when something was arranged. So, I sacrificed my Sunday big sleep-in to venture out there (we left at 930, so I guess I got a sleep-in, but not my usual). They have a club-house and really nice pool overlooking the plantation and forest. Such a good spot for a Sunday sesh and good to get out of the camp for a break of routine. The food needs a bit of improvement tho, very salty steak.

The rest of the week was typical with a few highlights. Working. Trying to get my tax affairs sorted. I was tempted to get up at 4 am to listen (via internet radio) to the West Coast Eagles Prelim final, but sleep was more important to me. They lost miserably anyways. Had a good chat with the family over skype. Found out my cousin is with child again (congrats!). Prep'd for my South American break. This time next week and I will either still be on a plane or landing in Lima! Yay. I depart site next Saturday morning and fly out Saturday night. My next entry will be from Peru...I still haven’t finished sorting out my 'best of’ photos from the USA trip. That can be my mission this week.
