I officially allowed myself to countdown the end of my swing this week. When Thursday came around I was happy cause when people asked "when are u out?", I could say “next Thursday” rather than name a date. Ahhhhh the small things that make u smile on the inside. I'm ready for the break now that I can smell it. I am salivating at the thought of a Texan steak and chocolate milkshake, almost feel sunshine (it is cloudy here for 95% of the day), and preparing for conversation with people my own age. Pretty much everything is booked and planned for the trip.

It was very quiet at site this week because most of the expats were off site for a conference (I didn’t get invited). I have done a bit of driving and getting out a bit more cause I now have wheels. The Resettlement Site now looks like something from a Disney movie set. The house colours are chosen by the family moving in and they are all going for the most wild bright colours. It will end up the most colourful village in Ghana!

I’m too scared to check the value of my shares after the blood-bath that was the global share-market this week. Ignorance is bliss. I think gambling in Vegas will have a more favourable outcome for me. Yes, that’s it, I will gamble myself out of loss.

Oh and the goats that tend to get in the way of my driving...apparently they are sheep, not goats. Um, these don’t look like any sheep I’ve seen. I’ve included some pics. Actually my photos are nature orientated this week. I guess I chose the right career afterall.

Some More Interesting Ghana Observations: they think that Ross and Rose are pronounced the same - Rose; vehicle windows are simply referred to as glass “please put up the glass because the air con is on”; with their accents, google sounds like goggle...so funny, I will have to record it; heard my first non-African song on the radio this week – Rihanna.

Next entry will be from the United States of America!! I have heard that they are short on cash so I’ll prop them up for a few weeks. Houston, Las Vegas and New York City here I come! Get ready, I have a feeling this one is gonna be a wild ride :-)
