Finally got my site driving licence this week! Yay. I have an international driving licence, but to drive the work vehicles, I need a site driving permit. I barely passed the theory test - I attempted to argue some of the stupid questions, but quickly realised the examiner was in no mood for debate. But the practical was easy. No goats, no random children walking on the road-side, and I didn't stall. I’m yet to go for a drive by myself. Gotta build up to these things.

Other than that, it was a fairly uneventful week. There was a wind-up dinner for the National Service Personnel. In Ghana, there is a requirement for uni grads to spend 1 yr in the workforce – the govt pays half and the companies pay half of their salary. Sounds like a good program actually by giving graduates a guaranteed job straight out of uni and cheap labour for a company. These events all seem to follow a similar pattern: massive sound system, lots of speeches interspersed with random acts of sober dancing, and then the obligatory free t-shirt. They love their free t-shirts. I had to give a speech of advice.

I’ve been in for a month now. Starting to feel ready for a break. More so for a change of scenery and routine than anything else. Plus, lots of other people are out on their breaks at the moment, so there is not a lot of people about. Saturday night at the bar was dead. Probably a good thing cause I was able to get a 12 hr sleep. I love my sleep.

Oh and I finally sold the Berlina!!! Hallelujah. Several thousand dollars less than my original asking price, but just glad that my car is off my hands and out of my sisters’ drive-way.
