3rd Aug
Stopped overnight in a tiny place called 'Balladonia'. Infact, it's not really a place. Just a roadhouse! Total population - 9!!!!!!
4th Aug
Continued the drive across the Nullarbor. People warned us that the drive was terribly boring. Nothing to look at - treeless, vast and flat. The Nullarbor also consists of 146km or 90 miles of completely straight road - Australia's longest straight road infact. However, we didn't find it as bad as some of the roads we had travelled in the boiling outback. Maybe the fact that it wasn't 40 degrees outside helped. Stayed at the aptly named 'Nullarbor caravan park'.
5th Aug
Managed to get to the Eyre Peninsular and stayed in a little village called 'Venus Bay'. Set up the tent right next to the beach. We've been pretty lucky with the weather. It hasn't rained once since the torrential stuff we had in Augusta. This is good, as the tent has a serious leakage problem.
Nothing to do here, so we ventured into the next town of Port kenny. Here we found a single pub and so had a few drinks with the small number of possibly inbred locals.... Very friendly they were!
6th Aug
So here we are in port Linclon. Back to civilisation. Found a 2 course carvery for $10 each and couldn't resist a sunday roast after eating out of tins for the last few days.
We went back to the same hotel in the evening and had a few drinks and pudding!!!
