After not much sleep on a 13 hour train ride I finally got to Washington DC at 9.00am, picked up my bag and taxi to the International Hostel I was booked into, arrived at 10.00am checked in and had a shower for 30 minutes to clean me up after a hard night on the train, then went to have a look around the city. First was the Washington Monement and Lincoln Memorial, also seeing the Smithsonian on the National Mall. Then came back to the White House and saw both North and South End. And then Kiwi got into some more trouble outside of the White House and meet some local protesters fighting for a peace and against the War and Presinent Bush.
Got back to the Hostel at 4.00pm and meet a guy from Birmingham, England called Iain, we went out for dinner at a nice little Mexican Place and then decided to keep going and headed to Georgetown where Georgetown University is and we had a couple of drinks and in a pub called the Old Glory, then moved onto another bar that was told it pumps on a Wednesday and we partied the night away until they closed the bar at 2.00am, which told me and Iain that it must be home time so we jumped into a taxi and returned the Hostel and just crashed straight onto the bed. Which I sleep like a baby
