KILLARNEY TO TRALEE
This morning we drove until we reached the little seaside village of Dingle. Obviously inspired by the number of famous Irish poets we'd been hearing about, we all decided to have a pringle and a tingle in dingle!!! We looked out for the local dolphin of Dingle (Fungi) and then inched past Inch to Slea Head, the western-most point of Ireland. After a 4pm lunch we headed on past a couple of pretty lakes to Tralee for banana and custard for tea.
TRALEE TO LIMERICK TO ENNIS
Once more inspired by Irish bards and literary territory, Choompie finished her 'holiday book' and then read another in 2 days. Bring out the record books because we are still in shock over this feat!!!! We finally arrived in Limerick, but obviously the dirty part of town because not even the mushy peas could impress us. A last minute decision, we kept driving on to the next nice looking town - Ennis, for a Guinness. (okay, enough with the rhymes!!!) In the Ennis info centre we found a Irish history display, and learnt that the world record for the most number of taps to be made in one second was set by an Aussie tapdancer - THIRTY EIGHT TAPS!!!! In one second!! ARGH! Time for me to give up tap dancing. We found a B&B and hiked up to the pub for some traditional Irish music (violin and bango).
