Getting going in the morning

Our excursion was set to leave at 9:00 AM so I was up early again...6:50.  I order breakfast in the room at it was delivered around 7:30, and I went up to the Computer center around 8:00 to post yesterdays blog.  We went down to meet the group for our tour around 8:45ish.

Dad and Kathy were up late last night, they went back out after I came back to my room so I am not sure how they were feeling.  Kathy seemed to be having fun last night... ;)

Cooking Experience

We signed up for the Caribbean cooking experience...it was really fun!  We rode a bus up into the mountains of Dominica to the owner of the tour company's house.  The Drive was amazing...little narrow streets through town with all the colorful buildings.  The little town looks very Caribbean...a little rundown but colorful.  In the mountains it was all jungle.  I mean real jungle!  The house is on top of a hill and we were met there by Daria and Liz who were going teach and help us cook a traditional meal.  We made Beans and rice, King fish Creole, and fried Coconut Plantains.  Everything was really great!  Now I know what to do with plantains!  We has local fruit juice with lunch too; Golden Apples and Sorrel juice.  Both were very yummy.  We rode back down the mountain after lunch in a old rickety truck that was converted to a bus; that alone was an adventure.

We all got to participate in cooking lunch, Dad helped with the Rice and beans, the Plantains, and he looked at the fish.  Kathy helped with the fish, and the plantains.  I help with the Fish, and the plantains.  We also got to see green oranges!  They were yummy too.  Liz told us how to make coconut milk, the clear liquid that comes out when you open a coconut is the water, you have to do stuff to make the milk.

Oh, yeah...Dad is catching a cold so I gave him some decongestant and maybe that will help him feel better.

Back to the Boat

We returned to the boat after the Excursion and stopped on the dock...looking down the water was so clear and blue, it was beautiful.  Then we just went back and got the boat.  First thing I did when we got back was take a nap.

After I woke back up I called Kathy and we went tot eh Thelasotherapy pool; it is salt water and it has these little bubblers that blow up under these pipes that you lay on.  It is warm and so relaxing.  After that we soaked in a Whirlpool, then I went and Got my hair cut.  She cut off a little more than I wanted L but I thing it will be ok, it grows back.  My hair really needed it.

After that I went and met Dad and Kathy for a drink and Kathy and I decided what excursion we wanted for Aruba...Horseback riding!  We decided not to do an excursion in Granada because they all started really early.

Dinner and after...

Kathy and I met back up at 6:45 to go to the Show, the comedian.  It was funny, he does sound effects which was pretty cool.  Lots of the standard cruise jokes, but it was still really fun.  We went up to the Martini bar after and I had a Cloud Martini...White chocolate...Very Yummy!

Dinner was great too.  It was Escargot night!  I obviously has the Escargot and it was yummy.  After dinner we all went and had a drink on the bar at the back of the boat.  It was nice and relaxing, then we walked up and watched the Band play in the pool area for a while.

Dad Decided to go to bed early and Kathy and I went to the Night club.  We had a blast dancing.  I do have to say the crowd here is young...and 18 year old asked me to dance!  At least be old enough to buy me a drink.  Anyway, Kathy and I danced for a couple of hours and had a great time.

Next stop is Grenada!
