We had originally planned to head home last Saturday. But then my dear friend Steph called and said her aunt had a timeshare outside of Tampa that she couldn't use and would we be interested in staying there. Hmmm return to cold and rain in Atlanta or spend another week in Florida? It took us about 10 seconds to deciide--yes! We hadn't budgeted to be on the road for so long, but it was on the way home, Thomas had completed his projects for the month and we'd have a kitchenette to eat most meals in, so we were able to make it work.
And what a fantastic time we're having! The grounds are beautiful and the outdoor pool is nice and warm. I asked M what would make it feel like Christmas for her. She said she wanted to make a tree. We got the supplies from the dollar store and she created a beautiful tree to light up our room.
Since we hadn't planned on being in the Tampa area we had no idea what we wanted to do. Each day has been an adventure. We visited the Bradenton Arts District and discovered a very cool metaphysical bookstore. The shaman there is the keeper of 2 12,000 year old crystal skulls. Xmas day was spent back at Siesta Key Beach (quite chilly and crowded) but our succulent crab and lobster dinner was warm and yummy! We spent some time in St. Petersburg and lounged around a lot. We even went to a message circle tonight at the bookstore. One more day then this time really back to Atlanta! Mecca has a birthday party to attend on Sunday that she doesn't want to miss.
We'd like to say a very special thank you to Stephanie and Aunt Sissy for making this week possible!
