As we regroup financially from our 5 month trip to Hawaii, we've been finding lots of free things to do here in Atlanta to enjoy these summer months. Just because we're not living in paradise doesn't mean we can't have fun!
We went hiking at one of our favorite local spots, Sweetwater State Park. It's about 20 minutes west of downtown Atlanta off Interstate 20. The trails are tree-lined and one runs right next to the river while others criss cross the forest.
The High Museum of Art is free to Fulton County residents the first Saturday of each month. Imagine It! Children's Museum is free the second Tuesday of each month. Zoo Atlanta offers a free family four pack of tickets that can be checked out of the library with a Fulton County library card. Centinnial Park has free jazz every Wednesday from 5:30-8pm and Atlantic Station has free outdoor movies every Thursday beginning at dusk. Oh, and Thomas won tickets to Peter Pan starring Cathy Rigby at the Fabulous Fox Theater. Let's just say we've taken advantage of the offerings here in the city!
