: We arrived early into Newcastle, we had planned to arrive the day before but being a Saturday night there was nothing left anywhere (at a cheap price anyway) so we stayed in York an extra night, which turned out good because of Emma's back (better now). Since we arrived early we couldn't check in for a while and we were told that the Newcastle vs. Man United was on in the afternoon, so we decided to get a head start on a few drinks before the kick off and with a pub next door to the hostel we didn't have to go to far. The pub was a little packed but nothing like that time in Nottingham, unfortunately Newcastle got smashed 3-0 but it was an alright afternoon and night but it quietened down a lot after the game, probably because it was a Sunday afternoon, so we had some dinner and went back up to our room.
: The days are starting to become a lot cooler as we head north and today was possibly the coldest so far, no rain, sun out but a dare say it didn't get over 6 degrees. Today we explored the city, it's not as well preserved with old fortifications like York but we did see the old gate tower that was the entrance to the old city but other then that there wasn't too much. Most of the buildings date back a hundred years or so and look amazing but nothing much older.
