Where I stayed
Day 144: Last night I had looked up on the internet if there were any video game shops that sold old retro games for the SNES and N64 and found one close to our hostel, so we went there in the morning and ended up buying a few games that I haven't played in ages so can't wait to get back and play them. The rest of the day we spent walking around the city, it was raining on and off all day so we hid in a pub for a bit of the day when the rain got pretty heavy, but it was good to have a little bit of a slow day after running around the whole time in London
Day 145: Today we went to Nottingham Castle and found out when we got there that the original castle had been destroyed hundreds of years ago and the new landlord had built a large mansion so nothing of original castle remains except for a few foundations. There was a few nice sculptures depicting the Robin Hood legend and inside the mansion they had an exhibition of Robin Hood and the Sheriff of Nottingham and their stories and possible explanations about how the legend arose and who it could have been and if it was real or not. Somewhat interesting, had a few good things but it's not a must do, they also had an art exhibition going on but it wasn't interesting at all. We did miss the annual beer festival that they have in the mansion gardens by a week which would have been good to go to if we were there, people get dressed up in costume and all.
This afternoon they were showing a Premier League match at the pub we have been going to for most of our meals so we went and watched it but the pub wasn't as packed this time but still had fun.
