Day 1: We made it! We are officially on our adventure.

We arrived into Singapore today and we were nice and early, a little to early in fact considering we couldn't check into our hotel for another 5 hours so we just dropped our bags off and went for a walk.  We decided to catch the train over to Sentosa Island where we had lunch and Emma was excited that she saw her first squirrel, I can't imagine what she will be like when she sees the elephants.  We had lunch along the beach and afterwards we went and checked out the aquarium, when we entered we saw this guy holding a snake and getting people to hold the snake and get photo's, so obviously we did this.  In the aquarium there where plenty of turtles and fish, and this was just the entrance, they also had a tank full of stingrays that we were able to feed.

After the aquarium we went outside to watch the dolphin show, these dolphins were different in that they were mostly a pink colour and apparently the pinker they are the older they are.  The show also had baby seals that did tricks and put on a little bit of a comedy act with their trainers.  We then went over to the fish spa since it was part of our entry fee and when we put our feet into the water the fish quickly came up to us and began nibbling on our feet trying to get to the dead skin.  Apparently my feet were extra dirty, or just more tastier, then the others as I had about half the tank on my feet, we finished with the butterfly house before heading back to the hotel.

For dinner we went to China Town and the atmosphere here was great, lots of stalls and food places and everyone trying to convince you to eat at there restaurant. While we were eating there was a parade going past. It had a dragon, drums and dancers then last came a guy on a horse, turns out they were filming a movie or something.  The food was delicious and was a perfect way to start the trip and I'm hoping it gets better from here.

Day 2: This morning we headed to the Singapore Zoo where we had organised to have breakfast with the orangutans, it wasn't quite what I was expecting with the orangutans in a corner and about 150 people eating in a restaurant near them but we did get to see them up close which Emma enjoyed.  When we sat down to eat the orangutans, who were on their island, climbed up the trees and ropes, across the water and down to their spot near us and then after we had finished our breakfast we were able to go up and get a photo with them

After breakfast we went and explored the rest of the zoo where we went and watched an elephant show where they did some tricks and squirted the audience with water.  We also had an elephant ride here, not as long as the ones that we are planning in Thailand but we had to do it considering Jessica and Selwyn will only get this one chance to do it.  And it was pretty cool and Emma had a smile on her face the entire time, she just couldn't believe she was riding an elephant, and to make her even more excited we went to the giraffe enclosure next where she got to feed the giraffes.  She was a little grossed out by their tongues, especially when they licked her trying to get more food, she also tried to pat them but wasn't allowed to.

That night we went on a night safari tour of the zoo where we got to see the animals being a little bit more active, even though they were a little more active it was just too hard to see them, but we all still had fun anyway and it was a good night.
