then head to Melbourne to actually do some sightseeing (I've been to Melbourne twice now and have yet to see anything!). Some friends are in South Australia looking for fruit picking and I think I might join them, but at this point in the trip I have realied its pointless to make plans- I just will let whatever happens happen. I am excited about heading west, and it looks like my initial dream of ciricling the entire country may actually happen! But.... we will see.....
Last week I worked non stop at the bakery and when I had a few days off I took a walk down a (very small) portion of the Great Ocean Walk from Apollo Bay to Marengo.I had intended to snorkel at an offshore reef, but I didnt see anyone else swimming out there, so i felt it best to play it safe- not wanting to be swept out to sea at a lifesaver-less beach. The water was quite cold- I am not in Queensland anymore that's for sure!!, but I swam a little and enjoyed the scenic walk and reading on the beach. On the 6th I moved into the YHA hostel inn town, which is one of the nicest I have ever been to. It's clean, quiet, comfy, friendly and eco-friendly too. I'm really enjoying it here, but unfortunatley (or maybe fortunatley as the case may be) the work at the bakery ran out today. The busy season is over and many of the thousands of tourists have gone home, leaving Apollo Bay to be a town of little more than one thousand people. Work was 3 hours today and not likely to get more than that anymore. Having already struggled with being underemployed I decided to leave to search for work somewhere else. That's really the point of this visa- to work somewhere then leave for somehwere else. So I have made a decent amount of money the past 3 weeks, and I think I'm going to tour the rest of the Great Ocean Road,
