Well, Mike was up early and off to go fishing. Since he didn't come back by 7:30, I knew he made it onto the boat. He took a nice big lunch that included breakfast foods and snacks.
I enjoyed a quiet, frustrating day alone. I got up around 7:30 and had breakfast, then wanted to work on our expenses. I told Mike I wanted to see how much this trip cost us, so I have been keeping all the receipts and track of all the gas expenses along the way.
I had downloaded an app on my ipad (free, so I should have known better). I had started a few of the entries on a spreadsheet over the course of the trip, but still had most of the receipts in a pile. I got most of them entered into my spreadsheet (taking me about 2 hours), and suddenly everything I had entered today was gone! I know I had saved a couple of times, but still it was gone. I was so frustrated, I put everything away and decided to have lunch and take a nap.
After my 1/2 hour nap, I was feeling like being constructive again, so started over. This time I would use the laptop and Microsoft Excel. Much better, finally got it all entered. I will not do any totals until we get home (don't want to know yet).
When I was finished, it was close to 3:30 and I thought Mike's boat should be coming in around 4:00 or 5:00, so I went for a walk into town. I walked for about an hour and he wasn't back yet so I came back to the camper to watch a movie.
Mike showed up around 6:30 with a guy he met on the boat. They caught a lot of fish, so we needed to package it up for freezing and transport. Mike informed me that he and the others were so sick on the boat that he didn't eat anything all day. It was very rough out there, and they stayed all day. Glad I'm not a fisher person.
He did take a lot of pictures of the various things they caught besides fish....shark, stingray, octopus. Wow what a day! They didn't keep anything but the fish, but it was interesting to see what is out there. So we now have halibut and cod to cook up when we get home....fish fry anyone?
And so it was a quiet evening, we relaxed, Mike had a hot shower and felt well enough to eat a bit. We just watched a video and are ready for bed.
