Hallo from the Alps in Salzburg, Austria!

After an amazing four day stay in Slovenija, we are now traveling back towards Frankfurt for our flight back to America. Our train took about five hours to get from Ljubljana to Salzburg today. This train trip was really cool. We basically zig-zagged through the Alps. The train climbed up pretty high too! We saw all these little picturesque mountain towns. Plus we witnessed the snow melt coming down from the top of the Alps to the streams below (it's that time of the year). VERY COOL!

Although we really only have one day/night to spend exploring this charming area (the birthplace of Mozart) we are breathing in every minute we can. Salzburg is much smaller than Vienna however, it has an amazing personality of its own. Today we were able to visit the birthhouse and residence of Mozart. In fact, his residence has been made into a museum which we visited. Unfortunately, most of the furniture was destroyed during the war however, we were able to see the inside of the home with various artifacts, etc. - still very interesting. What we did learn was that Mozart actually had seven siblings however, five of them died. So, he survied with one sister who was quite musically gifted as well. Evidently, Mozart was not a big fan of Salzburg - I think he had the "big fish in a small sea" syndrome. :) Unfortunately, he lived a short life however, as everyone knows was very productive during his limited time.

Okay, so by the time we return I will have these European computer keyboards down pat. On the keyboard here the "y" is in the "z" area and vice versa. So, I keep typing "zs" for "ys" - but I am getting better at this! By the time we return, I will be typing "zs" for my "ys" in the US! Too funny.

Oh, and I need to report to my sister Yvonne that I haven't seen as much red/purple hair in Slovenia or Austria but I still see some. Budapest is the red/purple color hair winner this trip! I have seen the blonde layer on top with dark hair under on some of the younger chickie poos. And, I have not found your boyfriend yet over here however, a cutie was on the elevator with us this evening. Maybe I should ask him to return to Detroit with us to introduce you?? Unfortunately, no Italy stop this trip or else I am sure we would find him there for you!

Well, we will have at least one more blog which hopefully will have pictures! I am so bummed that we have not been able to upload them so far however, we will soon.

Till our next blog...Auf wiedersehen!
