Hallo from Germany! We arrived in Frankfurt yesterday, April 30 around 8 am. After collecting our luggage we bravely made our way to the Bahnhof (train station) to head to Stuttgart. Upon arriving in Stuttgart we were greeted by our good friend Blaz. You know there is something to be said about arriving in a foreign country and seeing a familiar face. And, to my Chicago girls and family who know Blazie - he is letting his hair grow a bit! I have included a few pics to show you. He looks great. We dined in an excellent Italian restaurant last night called il Gargano. Blaz knows the owner so our experience was first rate. I forgot how much the Germans like to drink and sing! There was this table of about 15 older folks next to us that kept singing songs. There was even a song that included the words New York and San Francisco - Mike and I were basically singing "watermelon" until it was time to belt out New York, San Francisco. After dinner, it was off to the "Fellbach Hopf" - basically a huge bar hop with the entire area of Fellbach. There were buses transporting people from one place to the other. People were singing songs on the bus, yelling soccer chants back and forth - a great way to start our European adventure. We ended up hanging out in this large barn type bar where there was live music and hundreds of people. I think we finally called it a night around 4 am. If we would have made it to 7 am the mayor would have prepared breakfast! Crazy! Today is a holiday - Labor Day. Tomorrow we are off to Prague. Until then, Auf Wiedersehen. :)
