Devil's Tower, Wyoming

This morning we drove to Devil's Tower in WY. It is just as spectacular this time as last summer. The sky Jan made it up to the first top and decided to wait for us. Dirinda and I continued around the 1.3 mile loop. We spotted many climbers on all sides of the tower. Devils Tower plays a significant role in the Native Americans rituals and June is the most sacred time. While climbing is not prohibited in June most climbers honor the request to refrain from climbing. We did spot a snake crawling up onto a rock. It was not a rattler and we suspect not poisonous but telephoto was close enough.
We ate lunch at the KOA at the park entrance and headed back to Hill City via Deadwood, SD. Deadwood is about bars, casinos, and souvenir shops so it dosen't take long to see it.
Tomorrow will be buffet of stuff until we catch the bus up to Rushmore for the evening program.
