Well another day in the village. We saw off Bec and Sam in the morning and then headed across to a pretty little town called St. Quirin. It has a beautiful little chapel on a hill overlooking the village. It was a bit of a climb to get there but well worth it.
We decided that as it was the best weather we had had so far, we should eat lunch outside on the patio. After gathering the ridiculous amount of food that we had stocked the fridge with, we had what we thought was a proper French alfresco lunch. Seemed good to us anyway and there was wine, cheese and fresh baguette so we must have been close. In fact we drank a bottle of Champagne that our exchange partners were nice enough to leave for us. I think we ticked one of Ashley's holiday boxes with that one.
A little trip in the afternoon to check out the tourist train and then we found ourselves a little mountain stream to explore in the forest. Dad and Ashley couldn’t resist getting their feet wet as the water was crystal clear. Icy cold though.
By that time the weather was turning and a beautiful day turned into rain, wind and a return to the cold we’d arrived to.
Such a good thing to have a nice warm house.
