HE SAID:
We ventured off to Kinsale and I (I can't say "we" on this one) decided to stop at the zoo on the way.  It turned out to be much better than expected since many of the animals were roaming free without cages.  I have never seen monkeys at a zoo that weren't in a cage, very cool.  The highlight of the zoo for me was the cheetahs and we were lucky enough to be there for their feeding.  Staff would put a chicken on a rope that was suspended in the air and would move back and forth very quickly a long distance so you could see the cheetahs run.  Some would run for it but others clearly knew that they would eventually eat the chicken and preferred more of a jog (my kind of cheetahs).  During this chase we heard some thunder and then a torrential downpour of rain.  We took off to our car and were soaking wet all the way to Kinsale.  It was coming down so much that some of the roads turned into rivers and we were unable to cross.  Upon getting to our hotel in Kinsale (still wet), there was a wedding reception in the lobby with a band.  We couldnt even hear what the front desk people were saying.  They had us sit down away from the desk and politely told us that they didnt have a room for us (even though I had a reservation).  They put us up at a different hotel for the night that was equivalent to staying at a typical grandparents house.  We checked back into the hotel the next night; www.CarltonKinsaleHotel.com.   We took a nice hike to the Fort in Kinsale today and found out there wasn't all that much more to do in town.  On Sundays, nearly all the stores are closed.
