We left at an average time of 8am which is nice because it isn’t too early. We took off for what is called Giants Playground and it was neat to see. As far as the eye can see are enormous rocks that mostly square in shape and just strewn out across the desert. History: something like 1.5 million years ago they were formed and something happened and now they are here. Awesome huh!! I climbed a few rocks and just laid there under the sun for a bit talking. Afterwards we had to go back to our original camp because one of the guys in the group lost his phone. We had a few hours of driving ahead of us and I think we all are becoming less social during this down-time. We used to fill the time with card games and talking about anything and everything. Now we all mostly just read books and some of us have already a pretty high # of books. We arrived at our camp and had some down-time before we could set off again. Some laundry and a too short exercise routine ensued before we set off for Fish River Canyon for a sunset viewing. I must say, I have seen more sunrises and sunsets this whole 2-month trip than I probably have in my entire life. Not a bad thing. There is something really neat about watching the sun come up or down over some mountain range or crater in the middle of Africa. After another fantastic dinner, we pop in a bunch of DVD’s that we have bought throughout our trip and relived some of our most exciting times. We saw skydiving, white-water rafting, and my bungee jump. Bed earlyish since most of us have been traveling on this trip for awhile and our hard partying days are behind us.
