Another long day of driving and we arrived mid-day after driving through the dustiest road known to mankind.  This red clay like powdery dust was about a foot high in places where we had to drive through.  Kind of cool to see but we had to have windows up which made it hot to be in.  The camp was the usual and we set up tents as usual.  We had free time and I just hung out reading my book.  So far on this trip I have read two books, the first being a book on the Foreign Affairs Dept (State Dept), and a book written by the same guy in the movie “Super Size Me.”  He wrote a book called “Where in the World is Osama.”  It was a pretty interesting read and I learned a lot about the Mid East and their way of thinking.  The Foreign Affairs book took me about three weeks to read because it was a slow read and I spent more time looking out the window than reading.  And the Where is Osama book took me four days to read because it was easy to read and I spent less time looking out the window.  I managed to get in a decent workout and a run before dinner.  I went to bed extra early because I was tired from last night.
This day was a free day because we were scheduled to have a village walk including some dancing in there too, but there was a funeral they had to do so it was cancelled.  So we had our choice of various summer camp activities but it all looked boring or too expensive.  So the camp got a guy to give us a forest walk which was decent but the best part of the walk was the fact that we could eat fresh blackberries along the way.  Those berries were the best I’ve eaten and couldn’t get enough of them.  A few of us wanted to just skip the boring walk and eat berries all day.  They were that good!  I was kind of wondering if those berries were food for some village but I kind of figured that if they were food for somebody, then would already be picked and not on their way out.  Whatever I have to tell myself so I can eat some more berries!  We got back and ate lunch and chilled out a bit.  Then it was run time again and I had to motivate the unmotivated again.  An English woman in the group is a runner but has been out of it for awhile and she has kind of put me in charge of motivating her to run.  And she is contemplating a marathon next year and I told her to do it.  I like doing it and it is nice to have someone to run with from time to time.  She even calls me “Drill Sergeant” because of my background which is funny.  Following the run, was a sweat in the outdoor wooden sauna which was nice.  Traveling is tough let me tell you!  Dinner was burgers, fries, veggies, and some Dutch potato things that were really good.  Early night in bed.
