I arrived here but to tell the truth, I really didn't know what to do here other than the Beatles thing.  I just thought it would be a good point of entry to England and I could either go north of south.

I arrived kind of late but easily found my way to the hostel.  I went to bed at about 1:30am and was woken up at 4:30am but 5 drunken Spanish dudes with beer cans in hand.  Then again at 5:30am after they were done smoking downstairs.  Then woke up a few times to the sound of one of them snoring heavily.  As you can imagaine, I wasn't the most polite of people to them in the morning.
I woke up early and got my obligatory map from the hostel.  I decided to walk to what is known as Albert Dock.  According to the map, it's a UNESCO World Heritage Site.  I never really figured out why but they had some neat buildings around the basins.  The Beatles Story Museum was down there so that is where I went to.  The museum was pretty much what you would expect of a museum.  It started in their younger years and worked its way up.  Along with pictures and Beatles memorabilia.  I didn't know too much about them other than the basics.  I learned that the drummer(Ringo Starr) wasn't the original drummer at first but was later inserted when they were about to be big.  What a lucky guy!  Learned that they got into the drug scene and started going kind of crazy with their ambitions and performances.  And I learned a lot about John Lennon.  After the museum, I just walked the city a bit and got lost.  I was told that recently Liverpool held some kind of big culture festival event thing and and cleaned up the city a bit.  I think it was kind of a neat smaller city that had a lot of artsy stuff to offer.  Wish I had time to experience it all but there is never enough time.  -I sometimes had a hard time understanding some of the locals.  I don't know what it is with British accents, half the time I think it is a foreign language.  I've talked to non-native English speakers and they also say they have a hard time understanding the British.  I think I used to find the British accent attractive on woman, but now I think it is annoying.  And that pretty much goes for all British(Sorry, I think I have at least 1 Brit reading).  Not sure why.  The Aussies are kind of close to British but I've learned the difference between the two and the fact that they are way much cooler helps.  -In the night time my 5 roommates and I went out together for a drink and a chat.  The 6 of us consisted of a married Aussie couple, a French guy, an Italian woman, a Japanese woman, and myself.  We basically ended up walking around the city for about two hours because the French guy was trying real hard to find a quite place to sit and drink but failed.  Everything that was quite was closing because the bars/pubs close at midnight.  Same as in Ireland.  The clubs stay open until late though.  But it was kind of fun just to walk around and look at all the party revelers dressed in their best.  Night time is kind of cold despite the fact that it is August, but the woman didn't seem to notice.  They were wearing tiny dresses and huge high-heels and the men their button down shirts.  Heels don't work too well on cobble-stone streets.  By the time midnight rolled around, a lot of British were pretty sloppy drunk.  I found the look either drunk or not kind of repulsive.  A lot of the woman had tattoes too which I don't really like.  I think out of all the European countries, the British dress the worst to me(maybe only in Liverpool).  Not sure why I'm hating on them so much since we're so close in cultures.  But it is what it is!!!

I bought a ticket for a football match in Manchester for the following day and planned on staying overnight there since I would be already there, but I woke up and tried to stay another night in Liverpool.  Since I would only be an hour away and could easily come back.  NO dice though! My hostel was full so I just said the hell to it and took my things to Manchester.
