We rented a motor bike after breakfast and drove down to the southern tip of the island on Bukt Peninsula, saw Dreamland (a fabled surf spot), but continued down to Pura Luhur Ulu Watu Temple that is built on cliffs to the spirit of the sea. Monkeys live on the grounds. The views were amazing, but we were hot. A tour of school children from Jakarata were visiting the temple and wanted to take pictures with us, we happily obliged. We purchased fruit to feed the monkeys and I was brutally attacked by a monkey, it is all Jon's fault. The monkey was evil, after stealing all the fruit from me, he would take one bite from each piece and then throw them on the ground. We also saw a monkey scam where the monkey stole a lady's flip flop and would not give it back until a local lady came along and exchanged it for a tomato. The local lady then sold it back to the owner! I enjoyed a coconut in a warung outside the temple to cool down and fuel up.

Continued on the scooter to look for Jimbaran, a little town that has seafood bar-b-que lined up on the beach that are supposed to be great. We located the Warung's Open aired restaurants) and walked along the beach to check them out, the tables are in the sand close to the ocean. In the back a re large tanks of fresh fish and seafood swim around or rest on ice. Nothing was really happening there yet, but we ended up having a couple Bin Tangs and some delicious huge prawns that were grilled over an open fire of coconut husks and basted with a chili lime sauce. Delicious! We made our reservations with our waiter, Oka, for tomorrow night for a full dinner.

We headed back to Seminyak on the bypass, a major road in rush hour traffic with tons of cars and mini buses but even more motor bikes. Jon squeezed us through a guard rail and a mini bus causing me to curl up in a little ball to avoid being squished. We cruised by banana fritter guy to get our fix and he remembered us. We also discovered pancake daddy- thick pancakes covered in butter, folded in half with chocolate and peanuts in the middle- YUM!

We made it back in one piece, returned the motor bike, and headed into Kuta for some bloody cold beer. We encountered some poser types who came in shirtless (really, you can't find a shirt at 11 o'clock at night?) who ordered a drink with ice cream in it called a snowball. We mocked him and ended up meeting Scott from Australia who cracked us up for a while. He explained "I'm not pissed, I'm on mushrooms and walking on the moon"! We checked out a couple other bars and met a nice Aussie couple who had gone bamboo less then a year ago. They told us they ran away from home and opened a restaurant in Bali. We were so proud of ourselves for staying up past midnight!
