A friend of mine had heard that Harry & the Potters were going to be at Occupy Boston this afternoon, so several of us walked to South Station in order to find them. It was my first close-up experience with the protestors.  Before this I had just heard them marching on the streets, seeing them on TV or from a distance.  I was amazed at the number of children and pets, and by how the cops didn't actually seemed to mind them.  I even saw one man and cop conversing calmly.  There were certainly those who were more vocal and energetic than others, but overall the scene was just tents and handmade signs.  No sign of any Wizard Rock bands, however.

We kept checking their Twitter and just before we were going to give up we overheard some girls also looking for them.  We followed them until we heard music, finally finding Harry & the Potters amidst the tents.  Even though I know very little about the movement and am not sure yet if I support them, it was an incredible feeling standing there with people who have fighting for what they believe in.  It felt like I was in history.  The songs - written years ago by Harry & the Potters and inspired by J.K. Rowling – related very well to the current situation.  Some themes are universal, in books, in music, in life.
