I (Trav) get to blog today, because not much happened! Had a slow start, with breaky in the Van, Skype calls in the restaurant which were great to see the Dogs and chat to both our families. Had a second Breaky at the Restaurant as it was fairly cheap. We left Rome just before Midday, and drove just over 750km to arrive in a new country – Austria. Stayed on the motorway the whole way – so much quicker when you don't have to slow for towns or wait to overtake slow traffic. Theoretically if we had a faster car not effected by cross winds and stayed at 130kph (the speed limit), the trip would have taken under 6 hours – we took 8.5 hrs with a half-hour lunch break and another 10 min fuel stop – Helios did well today! The toll was the most expensive we’ve paid thus far. I estimated €20, Kel estimated €30 – these were guessed early in the day, and I should have re-evaluated – It came in at €46.60 – so Kel won that bet and is now entitled to a free Coca Cola. Payment of Tolls is easy, as long as the machine is happy to accept my Visa on the day.

Another calculation... we passed the designer outlet at Barbarello 3 hours after leaving Rome. The other day when we left Barbarello and arrived at Rome, the same trip took 7 hours due to the traffic caused by the truck crash. So delayed by 4 hours! Much longer than we realised, and the reason we arrived at camp at 1am!

Arriving into Austria was just like arriving into Switzerland again – beautiful mountains everywhere you look. Although we didn’t see snow, and the waterfalls and rivers we saw seem to have much less water than in Switz. Went through a lot of tunnels and crossed many bridges – but no windy Swiss roads!

The Camping ground is beautiful – green grass everywhere. The last few camping grounds have had poor/no grass. There is a church on the hill about 50m away – that might be our alarm clock for the morning! The restaurant/bar here opens at 8am for Breaky, looking forward to that!
