Where I stayed
Du Bord de L'aisne,
Woke up to another nice morning. Had our cuppa and toast...Trav had croissants...again. Spoke to a local to suss out a good wine/champagne region and then was on the road by 10amish. We didn't do a great deal today. Went to a shopping centre, similar to the one we went to a few days again where some of the workers were on rollerskates. We so need these types of shops back home where you can buy absolutely everything at the one place! Inside this 'Carrefour’ shops they had a cafe upstairs. You were able to park your trolley in a trolley bay and head upstairs for lunch. We grabbed a ham & cheese roll, fruit, OJ and a bowl of hot chips with gravy for only €4. Best bargain yet. They also sold scratchie tickets from a vending machine! They love their vending machines here in France. Grabbed a coffee at Maccas to use their free internet and then made our way to Reims...champagne region! Went through 3 tolls which cost us in total €16. Passed through a fair bit of country side – farmers crops of wheat and the sunflowers were truly amazing that went for a ages...all facing the sun.
