Despite laying on cocktails at a 5 star hotel and taking us to an embassy bar where the hookers were cheaper than the beers (Beth was particularly touched by this gesture), the captain of the Old Grumblers Cricket Club is unsuccessful in trying to persuade one of his opening bowlers to make it back in time for the start of next season.
