Chinese tourists eating deep-fried delicacies from street hawkers - scorpions and silkworms, snakes and sheep's penis, exothermic drinks and candied fruits. It is impossible not to feel energised by the vitality of this place.

I'll never forget when we went to Beijing - seeing an innocent young girl with bunches biting the head off some small deep fried baby bird!
