Took the London Express train from Heathrow and arrived at Paddington Station when a departing fellow traveler gave me her day pass so I got to ride for free! Took the Bakerloo line to Picadilly station and walked to the hostel I was staying in for the evening. Quite a packed "all female" dorm on the fourth floor. So took the smallest lift ever to the fifth floor and walked down since the fourth floor lift door was broken and settled in.

Had a good walk around and ducked into the Ritz Hotel for a map...the doormen swooped in on me pretty strong when I tried to wander in the door of the Ritz Club...I assume quite exclusive judging from their earnest attempt to keep me out! However, the concierge at the main entry was lovely and set me up.

Took a good walk around the area and had a light dinner before heading off to sleep. My no jet lag pills seemed to work pretty well...perhaps better named almost no jet lag pills!

Upon waking, I glanced to the bed next to me which isn't difficult since it was about 24 inches away from mine and saw the most masculine looking 'female' dozing quietly. Sure enough, she got up and turned out to be a definitive 'he'. Very glad I had slumbered in appropriate dress!

BTW, pictures will be slow coming since Apple has decided to prohibit flash on their IPads. Love the IPad but frankly "&?$@! Apple for that. ; )
