I had a one day stopover in Kuala Lumpar, Malaysia for a night, 6 hr flight from Perth.  I enjoyed my quick stop in KL as it is famaliar territory (was there twice last year), the peeple are great.  I reckon Malaysia is right in the middle of the western world and the underdeveloped world, with its infrastructure, money, resources, standard of living. So i was easing myself oot of the western world.  I found a great local cafe to eat at and spoiled myself with quite a nice hotel that cost me the same as a dorm bed  in a hostel in Oz.  Oh yes i love it cuz it's cheap as well.  So i just hang oot in China Town in the market and in my hotel room.

Then after another early morning flight, 4 hrs this time, i arrived in India...and after lots of mental preparation.  They called the town Trichy for short, cheap airport but nothing much to see.  (Oh i am prould to say that from Tasmania to India, 6 flights cost me under $900 Aus...see im not rich)   This Vietnamese guy that i met at the airport started to follow me (which hasn't stopped yet) like a lost puppy which was great at first as it give me more security and that little comfort, just having another lost soul, to deal with India for the first time.  I found us a rickshaw, negioated the price, got ripped off still im sure (ive got to get used to all this again), got to the bus station.  There is no ticket counter, all the buses have signs but of course in some foreign alphabet (not sanscript but looks like it...oh and india has no offical languages, 17 main ones, english being one thank god, and hundreds of others) so just asked peeps til i found our way to the right bus...to Puducherry or Pondicherry it's also called.  And it is the last stop so i dont have to worry aboot figuring oot where to get off.  It was leaving in a half hour..yay.

So i spent the next 6 hrs in a old rickety bus, with lots of windows, locals coming off and on (as it's used for a local bus as well as we venture through many towns and villages)...some staring but not as many as i thought so that were refreshing.  It was a great time to witness the life and everyday happenings here for the first time (while feeling secure on a bus) as I was feelng really good, i was buzzing, proud that i was in India finally but that gradually dimished as the bus journey went on, my swamp ass worsened (sweaty ass syndrome) and so did my very long day and my hunger (just 6 donuts but there are lots of peeps that would die for just 6 donuts)...as i wasnt chancing street food.

So my confidence decreased with my energy but i knew that it will take time and energy to get used to this magical place they call India...to feel comfortable, to get used the lifestyle, to be able to really experiece it and embrace it for what it is but im really hoping i will and will evolve from that.  God loves a trier...and no im not religious now but He does.
