One of many suburbs in the greater Perth is Scarborough..it seems every British colony seems to have a Scarbourgh, well at least Canada and England.  It's only a half hour local bus ride away.

It's located on the brim of the Indian Ocean, so there's a beach and a surfing beach at that...as to why i headed here.  I wanted to try my luck at surfing again.  I just scoped oot the surfing and the beach the first afternoon.  I was excited to enjoy a sunset on a beach again, with a few beers..company would have been nice but still enjoyed my own enough.

So got up the next morning rented a board from the hostel and headed oot, with a wetsuit of course cuz it's pretty cold.  I got demolished, my body as well as my confidencne.  Im not gonna blame myself entirely as the waves weren't easy (as a fellow surfer stated, that would make me a surfer, ok a surfer stated) as they weren't breaking too well and quite big, (no baby steps) and i think my board wasn't the greatest for me, it was old and tattered (kind of like how i felt).  So  only lasted a few hours of being ripped to shreds.  I figured it's ok to give up sometimes, as long as you come oot alive.   I even struggled getting oot, pass the tide to get to the waves to ride...just kept getting pushed back, as waves smashed into me that i couldn't get over, oh my poor wee arms.  I think an older surfer dude felt sorry me as he gave me a few pointers in the water and then saw me sitting on the beach and told me not to give up and gave me some more pointers...awww how nice and he said that a lot of surfing is taking nose dives, even when you know what you're doing.  Speaking of nose dives...i did indeed give up, for now, for today, for the time being... when i actually caught a smallish wave not soo far oot but it was soo fast that i didn't have a chance to even to try to stand up before i was pushed all the way to the shore, saw the sand, the shore coming at me fast and knew there were no brakes, just sand...nosedive, check!

I did have a very relaxing afternoon afterwards though, i have to say.  A beer for my efforts and a couch in the sun at the hostel with a good book...yay!  And then wandered back down to the beach for a more relaxing time, another sunset for one.

So Scarbourgh and surfing together didn't necesasrily work oot for me...i miss Noosa and surfing, it was much kinder to me.  Scarbrough for its sunset and beach did work though...and relaxing always works for me.
