Merry Christmas again!
I ventured back to Cairns on Christmas Eve...i was still having issues realizing the fact that it was indeed Christmas. It was just too bloody hot.

I woke up Christmas morning and had a lovely, quiet, relaxing few hours just sitting/swimming in the blue lagoon. The lovely swimming pool across the street from the hostel, right on the boardwalk, beside the ocean. There were famlies in the park cooking their xmas dinners on the provided bbqs...aussies typically have a bbq for christmas and typically seafood apparently. Santa is still dressed in a big red fluffy suit though, even though i didn't see him. It was aboot 35 degrees.

Then in the early afternoon, i went over to my friend's Andy's. He was cooking a proper Christmas dinner, well close enough - British style with yorkshire pudding and all, for a few friends so i went over early to help. There was enough food to feed a small army as typical with most Christmas dinners - ham, turkey, stuffing, 2 styles of potatoes, parnsips, carrots, beans, brocoli, and a pie for dessert. It was lovely to have a proper dinner! It was grand!

Then of course there were drinks involved, lots of vodka, wine and beer. I just stuck to the vodka and oj to get my nutrients...and even stopped partaking in that in the early evening to make sure that i was able to make it to my very early flight the next morning.
3:30am came very early but i was successful! I was onward and upward!
