Hi-ho.
Well it certainly has come and gone. My first 30 years. I can't wait for the next thirty years. It's obvious, i have already slowed down alraedy as it took me a while to write this blog.

I had a wonderful birthday. Thank you all for the lovely birthday wishes. It was quiet, calm, collected. Roaddog and I hiked up Mount Roland, near a wee town called Sheffield, aboot an hr drive from Launceston. There are mountains everywhere in Tassie, not like Everest mountains but still mountains nonetheless, hence their name. Roland is aboot 1300m high and takes aboot 3hrs to hike up to the top. The walk was great, submersed in trees and nature, a gradual incline for the most part, except the last 900m was quite steep and invigorating. At the top, it's not really a peak but rather a plateau filled with long brown grass, a few sparse trees and a view to die for of the neighbouring moutains, hills and plains. Of course when we arrived at the top, the clouds had just settled in so our view was a bit distorted but still beautiful for what we could see. We a had a lovely picnic for two with wine and beer (makes for the decline a wee bit more interesting) atop the plateau where we found a wee bit of shelter as it as veryy windy. When we arrived back at the bottom, we were glad to see Woco waiting for us as it was definitely time for more beverages.

The actual eve of my birthday, Roaddog showed up at my door with a cake in one hand and a bottle sparkling in the other. Gotta love my Rd. We consumed the bottle of wine with comfort and ease and laughs and enjoyment, before we proceeeded to dinner. Had a lovely chilled dinner for four with a guy from work (i haven't made many real friends here, other than my rd, as i much prefer to go for quality then quantity when socializing)..then headed to the Irish bar (because there is one in every town) with a live band for some drinks. I haven't ventured oot too much in the big bustling city of Launceston, so it was nice to get oot and aboot for a change. It was also to just as nice though to go back to my pad with my Rd where we chilled there (once again) over a few bevvies. Maybe i'm now too old for bars...once i get called a cougar, i'll use that as a sure sign.

All in all, i had an absolutely gorgeous birthday. Yeehaw!
I truly loved my twenties and everything they had to offer so i can only imagine what's to come next. I know it only gets better so...let my thirties began!!
